Investment: Portugal Strengthens Its International Appeal
Don't you have time to read? Now you can listen.
Foreign investment drives new projects and job creation
From new industrial facilities to technology centres and international operations, the investments announced in 2026 demonstrate the diverse opportunities Portugal can offer foreign businesses.
Portugal continues to attract international investment projects across industry, technology, logistics and specialised services. Announcements made throughout 2026 show that foreign interest extends beyond real estate to include establishing new operations, expanding production capacity and entering the European market.
Among the projects announced this year, Lufthansa Technik signed an investment agreement worth approximately €223 million for a new industrial facility in Santa Maria da Feira, expected to create around 700 jobs. Hennig's new factory in Figueira da Foz represents an investment of approximately €51 million and is expected to generate more than 450 jobs.
US-based SRAM also announced a new industrial facility in Coimbra, with the potential to create more than 500 jobs, while China's Aosheng Hi-Tech announced an €18 million investment in Valongo, expected to create around 200 jobs.
In services and technology, Singapore-based TDCX inaugurated its first centre in Portugal, in Lisbon, while US-based UJET opened a technology centre in Porto.
These projects, at different stages of implementation, illustrate the range of businesses that can find suitable conditions in Portugal to establish or expand their operations.

Beyond Investment: Turning Interest into Tangible Projects
Entering a new market involves much more than identifying an attractive country. Businesses need to find suitable premises, assess locations, understand the market, identify acquisition opportunities, build relationships with local partners and evaluate the conditions required to put their plans into practice.
Depending on their activities, they may be seeking industrial land, warehouses, commercial buildings, hotels, premises for service operations, business acquisition opportunities or real estate development projects.
The ability to identify the right opportunity and establish the right connections can be decisive in turning an investment intention into an operational project.

Portugal as a Destination for Investment and Development
International investment can contribute to job creation, knowledge transfer, the development of local suppliers and the strengthening of the country's production and export capacity.
Realising this potential requires businesses, investors and local partners to work together, with clear objectives and a thorough understanding of the conditions surrounding each project.
Building on more than three decades of experience, TOTE SER Capital welcomes conversations with international investors, business groups and companies considering Portugal as a destination for their next investment or expansion project.
For businesses seeking opportunities, premises, assets or local partners, the first step can be a conversation to understand their objectives and assess the possibilities available in the Portuguese market.
