In the district of Lapa we found this apartment, located on the 3rd floor of this building, at Rua Maestro António Taborda. In its immediate surroundings we find the Avenida Infante Santo, Guerra Junqueiro garden, best known as Estrela Garden, and where most of the foreign countries embassies are located in Portugal.
The aim of this project is to create more modern environments, improving the functionality of any space and making the whole apartment a warm and comfortable space.
As we approach this 2 bedroom apartment, we found some situations that require some attention. After visiting and taking into account the inside configuration of the apartment itself, many anomalies, were noted, such as, on the level floor, kitchen, toilet, awning, window frames, among others, needed to be rectified, in order the final objective was met in full. The existence of an interior room was also the subject of our attention.
Thus, the presented proposal involves the physical separation of the two rooms, making them independent, and the interior room gets a new function by adding several closets for storage house and support rooms. The area of the room and the kitchen becomes a through opening in the wall that divides at the present. The space becomes functional and open, making movement more fluid. The kitchen is fully equipped, taking greater advantage of the space resulting from the removal of existing chimney.
In the marquee area, line up the floors of all spaces, improving circulation and giving a new character to the space. In the toilet, its provision is amended, in order to create a technical space on the outside for placement of water heater and washing machine. The entire wooden floor will be treated; the frames repaired and new lighting will be installed.
The careful finish, the colors choices and games of light and shadow improvements, associated with the removal of some specific plans, will give this apartment a new character. The space becomes more open, modern and functional; the atmosphere becomes relaxed and comfortable.
